The next Grammy Award for Album of the Year will be presented on February 7, 2027, at the 69th Annual Grammy Awards. To understand who is going to be among the favorites, we need to take a look at how some of the latest releases and their subsequent tours have been received.
Taylor Swift - The Life of a Showgirl Taylor Swift has already won 24 Grammys and has won the Album of the Year four times. Life of a Showgirl was released in October 2025, together with the promotional film based on it. It sold four million units in the first week, topping the Billboard 200 and becoming the fastest-selling album in US history, although no tour for it has been announced.
Since Swift has won more Album of the Year awards than any other artist, she is regularly looked on as being the favorite to win these events. This year, after learning how to sign up for Kalshi, new users can look at the prediction markets for this award, as well as markets like sports and weather. The current contract price for each artist tells us the implied probability of that person winning, based on the contracts that have been bought so far. Swift’s album is sitting at 4% at the time of writing.
Rosalía - Lux Sitting at 26% on the prediction market, Lux by Spanish singer Rosalía was released in November last year. Immediately praised for its ambitious themes and the use of the London Symphony Orchestra, Lux’s songs were apparently inspired by female saints such as Miriam and Hildegard of Bingen. It’s divided into four movements and features lyrics that span 14 languages.
The mixture of modern pop and classical music immediately struck a chord with listeners and critics alike. It quickly broke the record for most streams in a single day on Spotify for a Spanish-language artist, as it was streamed more than 42 million times in the first 24 hours. She toured between March and September this year, ending in Miami.
Bruno Mars - The Romantic It’s currently sitting far behind the others in the prediction market, but The Romantic by Bruno Mars is another contender that’s worth looking at. His fourth studio album, it was released in February this year as his first new album in more than four years.
The album went straight to the top of the US Billboard Hot 100, as well as the charts in various other countries, with the artist launching a concert tour to support it. Mars started his world tour in Las Vegas in April before going to Europe and then back to the US, where he played at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, among other places.
With some of the world’s biggest music stars releasing albums in the last year or so, it’s no surprise to see that the Grammy Award for Album of the Year is going to be hotly contested. While we need to wait until February to find out who the winner is, following the latest news stories and predictions will help us understand how the market is moving before then.
