Rising Essex punk band Bilk announce their signing to iconic UK label Scruff of the Neck, with the first single as part of their exciting new partnership out today.

A hilarious and cautionary tale of singer Sol Abrahams’ first experience with hallucinogens, ‘Stop Pranging Out’ is a real livener. With their refreshing take on old school hip hop rock beats, hypnotic bass lines and Sol’s animated delivery, everything combines at once for an unforgettable ride.

Singer Sol Abrahams explains… “Stop Pranging Out is about when I went to Amsterdam with my mates and got on shrooms. The woman behind the counter who I bought em off told me to take 3 grams but I took 10 and bugged out all night. I guess this song provides the moral lesson: Don’t abuse drugs, and if you do, just stop pranging out and ride it.”

Hot off the heels of the equally unique and brilliantly raucous single ‘I Got Knocked Out The Same Night England Did’, Bilk add another page in their handbook for surviving life in the UK suburbs - which also features the local fan favourite ‘CM2’ (named after the Chelmsford postcode), and the likes of ‘Spiked’ and ‘Can’t Get It Up’.

With a new EP on the way and Scruff Of The Neck now fighting their corner, 2021 is set to contain all sorts of Bilk-branded chaos. Stream 'Stop Pranging Out' today, available on all platforms.

Reflecting on the highs and lows of British youth culture today, Bilk are three musicians creating a unique angsty blend of indie, rap and punk from the suburbs of Essex, UK. The brainchild of frontman Sol Abrahams (21), completed by bassist Luke Hare and drummer Harry Gray, their honest social commentary is as real as it gets. Their raucous live shows are already becoming a thing of cult legend amongst a new generation of music fans, resulting in chaos at venues across the UK and now also overseas.
