Every week, Music News and Liberty Music look at the best new releases from emerging and self-releasing artists.

Frazer Lepford – ‘Nobody’

Having originally made a name for himself as a busker across the South West of England, 24-year-old Frazer Lepford now returns with his latest heart-breaking single ‘Nobody’. Inspired by a true story, this bold and uplifting new release features little more than a rolling guitar hook and his soaring vocals over a bed of minimal pop production, delivering a fresh and engaging cut that channels the sound of acts like Nizlopi and Ed Sheeran.

Carmen – ‘Tell Me’

Following on from the success of her debut single ‘Part Time’, which went on to receive numerous radio play from BBC Introducing, BBC 6Music and Soho Radio, 21-year-old Londoner Carmen now returns with her blissfully soulful jam ‘Tell Me’. Writing within the guise of the urban jazz scene, this sweeping new offering also pays homage to the hip-hop and RnB influences that she injects into everything she produces.

Rico Rolando – ‘Camera Shy’

Following on from the critical and commercial success of his first two singles ‘Heartbreak’ and ‘Risk It All’, romantic RnB frontman Rico Rolando now showcases his new album ‘Taurus Truth’ with his pulsing new release ‘Camera Shy’. Channelling the dark and progressive sounds of acts like The Weeknd and Chris Brown, he looks to blend his Caribbean heritage with an unapologetic nod to American popular culture on this stunning return.

Vassco – ‘1 Percent’

With his debut single ‘New Money’ cementing the producer as a bold and fresh talent emerging in the hip-hop scene, Vassco now returns with yet another dose of progressive trap-inspired rap on his latest cut ‘1 Percent’. Teaming up with rapper Nessly and local Caribbean talent Oprehay, the producer unveils this sultry new jam to prepare us to his debut EP ‘The Hum Collection’, making for a smooth and atmospheric introduction to his upcoming release.

JJ Rosa – ‘PANDORA’

With a list of appreciators that include Lauren Laverne, Labrinth, Clint Boon and Fleetwood Mac icon Christine McVie, Manchester-born but London-based singer and songwriter JJ Rosa now returns to show why so many are throwing praise at her with her latest offering ‘PANDORA’. With its anthemic blend of classic rock influences and modern pop sensibilities, this new single looks to cement are as the strong and rising talent that she is.
