Ariana Grande has admitted that her recent break from music to film Wicked was "healing".

Following the release of her latest album Eternal Sunshine, the pop singer has revealed that filming her upcoming movie Wicked provided a welcome break from her music.

In a new interview with Apple Music 1's Zane Lowe, Ariana said that she had a "very interesting relationship to music" before being cast as Glinda in the upcoming musical film.

"More than ever before in my life, I've been able to be so much more present and enjoy it and savor it this time in a way that I don't think I was able to before," she told the podcast host.

The 7 Rings singer then addressed the topic of going on tour for the first time since her 2019 Sweetener World Tour, which supported 2018's Sweetener and 2019's Thank U, Next albums.

"I miss doing shows. I really do," she said, before adding that she's "excited to redefine my relationship to touring."

The singer then teased, "If there's a chance to in between the Wickeds or right after the Wickeds, I will of course do my best to do it."

Ariana released Eternal Sunshine on Friday, marking her first album release since 2020's Positions.

"I've loved every minute of making this album - the videos, rehearsing, putting the roll-out together, doing the photo shoots, every single part of it," she shared.

Wicked is due for release on 27 November, with the second part to follow in November 2025.
