Evarose played an explosive but short set at their EP release in Oxfords’ O2 Academy. Several bands played before to a gathering crowd which multiplied many times, and was almost packed as Robyn, Connie, Imogen and Dannika hit the stage erupting with their first song ‘Cough It Up’.
The sound quality was fairly decent from the front rail, and the girls put on a dynamic show. Lead vocalist Dannika made a good effort interacting with the crowd, and beckoned them even closer in as they bombarded the audience with their next track ‘Kissing Teeth’ and got the whole room clapping.
Evarose have no problem transposing their EP tracks to live situations. Robyn on drums kept in time furiously, and the girls on guitars (Connie and Imogen) rocked away confidently. Imogen also sang backing vocals. The night ended quite abruptly though on the track ‘We Can Pretend Anyway’. The girls could’ve gone on for longer easily.
