Smokescreen

Its hard to think that Smokescreen began as a band playing covers in a local pub. Listening to RegretRedeemRefine, with its bludgeoning grooves and tar thick riffs it’s easy to hear just how far the boys have come since 2003’s Welocme To Deaths Door.

Sounding cohesive yet malevolent, this is 5 tracks designed purely to blast your brains out. Although Smokescren don’t stop there, they want them sliding down the wall behind you. What makes RegretRedeemRefine work so wonderfully is the merciless brevity. Every tune spins killer melodies and brutal drumming and you’re left totally overwhelmed by the sheer velocity that has just made your ears bleed.

If you like it hard, heavy and intense stand out track 'Hatred Comes’ will be right up your alley. It’s no wonder that Bruce Dickenson has been playing these guys on his show, but why they are still unsigned is anyone’s guess. A very bright future ensues and after listening to 5 tracks of unrelenting metal all you can do is lie on the ground jabbering in yielding submission. Job well done.
