The Kut

All-girl foursome The Kut are a basement rock band from South East London who I have to admit I subconsciously wrote off before even taking the cd out of its sleeve.

I’m ashamed of the fact but I am always a little sceptical when it comes to girl rock bands. Don’t get me wrong there are some fantastic female rock bands and artists out there but for every decent girl band there is a over-tried, over-styled group of angst-ridden girls who think because they wear Stones T-shirts and look a bit moody they have what it takes, yes Ashley Simpson I’m talking about you! But The Kut have made me see the error of my ways, these girls well and truly rock! With dub and urban influences, a mesmerizing base and sultry vocals The Vision is a breath of fresh air.

Could well be one of the best female rock bands the UK has ever produced.
