Burn Yard Budapeste celebrated the latest of a series of spectacular shows in style with the world dominating Avicii.

On Saturday night Avicii could lay claim to the number one spot in 49 countries evidence, if needed, that the young DJ is certainly riding on the crest of a wave.

Music-News.com met up with the 23 year-old just prior to him taking to the stage at Burn Yard in Budapest on the 26th July 2013 to find out more.

Speaking to Music-News.com Avicii said "I'm just living in the moment, trying to focus on everything I have to do ... I've no time to enjoy my success."

On new album #TRUE Avicii told Music-News.com "It's a very eclectic album, a mixture of all the genres I love and I've tried to fuse them with the things I've been doing over the last couple of years such as house music and elements. It's a big kind of mish mash of funk and sould to Jazz and Bluesn and folk music, just everything".

‘Wake Me Up!’, the first single from his forthcoming debut album, shot straight in at No.1 in the official UK charts. Storming ahead of the rest of the top 10, the single recorded the biggest week one sales of 2013 at over 180,000, more than the rest of the top 5 combined.

Tracing an exponentially upward trajectory since the single was first announced, going straight in at Hype Machine No.1 and Shazam’s pre-release Top 200 No.1, the single amassed the highest pre-orders of 2013, selling close to 90,000 singles in just one day. Hitting No.1 on iTunes in the UK, and peaking at No.1 in 49 countries, its officially the fastest selling record so far this year. The single has now sold over 2 million copies worldwide.

Avicii premiered new track 'Speed' at burn Yard Live, which he made in collaboration with the Lotus F1 team.

Tim Bergling (born 8 September 1989), known professionally as Avicii is a Swedish DJ, remixer, and record producer.

burn Yard™ Live saw the unveiling of creative projects from a year long program called burn Yard™. Aiming to bring a new creative energy to discarded, obsolete objects and make them beautiful again, the artists collaborated to transform the space with graffiti, street art murals and digital projections. Set against their backdrop of artistic collision, the event itself showcased contributions from some of the world’s leading artists and creatives including international DJ Avicii, Lotus F1® Team driver Kimi Räikkönen and street artist M-City.

The street artists, brought together from countries all around the world, were tasked with breathing life into the derelict market hall before a thousand-strong crowd descended on burn Yard™ Live. Throughout the venue, an array of stranded vehicles were brought back to life by Hungarian artist Bázis, Romanian duo Saddo + Aitch along with fellow Romanian Suflo. Two crumbling walls were transformed into feature walls by Sergey and Kirill from Russia’s Zuk Club as well as French artists 2Shy and Faker. World renowned guest artist duo Stylus lent their unique blend of street art and projection to the venue’s walls and the main stage, featuring a repurposed tram carriage, was designed by Dilk.

M-City commented: “We are a Collective of street artists who set out years ago to make a point and to make a difference with our art. Now, years later, burn has brought us together, from countries all around the world, and we can celebrate our art and celebrate creativity together. The culture of street art is becoming more and more expressive and experiments like this, where we are working together, will hopefully help us to inspire others to explore their own forms of expression too.”

The burn Yard™ program aims to nurture and inspire creative talent and provide a platform to showcase ground-breaking ideas. The creative processes leading up to burn Yard™ Live have been documented in a behind-the-scenes video series. The first episode of the video series will premier at www.youtube.com/burn on August 5, 2013.
