While there's been a number of successful dancehall artists to date - Sean Paul, Mavadao, Vybz Kartel - there hasn't been a successful, contemporary British dancehall act that's made a mark - until Stylo G. Jamaican born and London raised Stylo G (real name Jason McDermott) has been on the underground scene for quite some time now and has already had numerous underground club hits to date including 'Call Mi A Yardie', 'Swagga Dem' and 'Number 1' with Mavado.

Most recently, Stylo's been in the studio working with Dre Skull (Snoop, Beenie Man, Lil Wayne, Eminem), and Basement Jaxx, (at their request) as well as getting himself on the bill for Glastonbury, Wireless and Tramlines Sheffield Festivals. Signed to 3 Beat/ Universal records, Stylo G has recently realeased his smash new single 'Soundbwoy' with major support from the likes of DJ's Sara Cox, Mistajam, Zane Lowe, Toddla T and Rob Da Bank.

Music News' Tasha Demi meets the UK dancehall champion, firing him some of her trademark 'think on your feet' questions and finding out what he makes of his soaring popularity. Check it out below...
