The Scaramanga Six release their 6th album Phantom Head on 1st April
The band are widely regarded as one of the most prolific underground rock bands in the UK. All of their albums have been independently released and some to critical acclaim by the likes of Kerrang and Rocksound. Phantom Head intends to continue in similar fashion.
From start to finish Phantom Head offers a platter of no holding back thoroughbred rock. Strong driving guitar and prominent vocals makes this a successful show of mature sounding noise. However this comes as a problem at times, it effectively becomes a near hour ordeal of the same sound. An album needs some change in tracks and the one track change to balladesque track It’s Just A Matter Of Time just isn’t enough to keep you listening.
However if the sound that is given is a genre you enjoy it is brilliant and you should definitely listen to the track The Bristol Butcher.
A prime of example that self-management is possible but not always advised.
