This three piece from North Oxfordshire are Adrian Banks (Vocals/Bass), Christian Gillett (Guitar) and Leigh Taylor (Drums) and come with the backing of 6 Music’s Tom Robinson, so expectations are quite high. Sounding much like many of the singers for British indie bands in recent years, Banks has a dark edgy feel to his voice, in the same mould as The Editors or Two Door Cinema Club (who they have supported on tour).

The video for Wired is an artily filmed, jumpy pre-gig movie and the song has that same jumpy feel to it. Built around a fast tempo drum and jaunty guitar hook it is a confident sounding single which is familiar without sounding too derivative and has a widescreen feel without sounding over-produced. If they can find these sorts of hooks on a regular basis then their loyal following will build very quickly.

Given that rock and guitar bands are making a fight back (at least in the album charts, where Muse and Mumford & Sons have recent topped the pile) this is a good time to be producing catchy pop-rock.
