Music News Underground proudly presents Assembly. Formed in 2009 and hailing from Liverpool, this talented up and coming band have been taking the London gig scene by storm. And it continues. Playing at the prestigious Barfly in Camden, this was Assembly’s first live performance of the year. Indeed, the Barfly’s intimate venue provided the perfect setting to showcase the band’s new material to their followers and fans.
Assembly are Dave Melia (vocals and rhythm guitar), Peter Page and John O’Connor (guitar), Declan McAleese (bass), Tom Melia (drums) and Russ Bingham (drums). Together they have pioneered a distinct sound to appeal to many a music fan. Having developed from a pop, rock, indie influence, this was very much evident throughout their live set at Barfly.
Their set included tracks from their third EP Woken By Sirens, which is hot off release, available through digital format and to download through iTunes. Denim Skirt, Out of Time, Mistakes of my Youth and Into The Dark are new tracks by Assembly from Woken By Sirens. Tracks that were played to provide a memorable night of live music. Sin City and Dance with the Devil were two further songs to open and close their exciting show.
As this band develops, it’ll be interesting to see how their sound evolves through the generation of new material. For now, they are busy promoting their third EP and with another live set on the cards in March, this is a band to truly look out for!
