Alligator is the new single from Scottish band Miniature Dinosaurs. They’ve had some pretty good press up past the wall and with some solid touring are making quite a name for themselves.

The single itself is apparently a live favourite and it’s easy to see why. There’s the chants at the beginng that lead into some fuzzy bass and funky guitar. It then takes a bit of a left turn into traditional pop-rock territory, and hits its groove. It’s very catchy, vaguely anthemic and easy to picture arms waving aloft at a gig.

Overall it’s a little lightweight and Barry Maclean’s vocal style may not be to everyone’s taste, but this is well worth a second and third listen.
