THURSDAY 11TH – SUNDAY 14TH AUGUST 2011
SECRET LOCATION 60 MINS FROM LONDON / 10,000 CAPACITY FESTIVAL
TICKET PRICE: £93 - SOLD OUT

The sold out Boomtown Fair moved to a new location for 2011 and although the crowd was bigger and the campsite packed with revellers, the facilities were plenty, the ale affordable and the range of food varied and good value.

The whole festival feels like a travelling circus the freaks have taken over. It would be utterly impossible to list all the curiosities on show but it boasted (along with the main stages) ska & punk stages, numerous bizarre dance stages (The Body Shop and Fitness Suites were as bass heavy as any London club), fair ground rides, moustachioed motorcycle stuntmen, burlesque dancers and fire eaters

Over 700 acts played the 25 stages over the 4 days: From Gogol Bordello bringing their unique brand of madness and Bad Manners playing the classics in the Town Square to Kenny Ken, The Gentleman's Dub Club and Congo Natty keeping the Lion's Den Reggae stage roaring, there was something for everyone to skank to.

Where as some of the new festivals to spring up in recent years have got bigger, upped their prices and pandered to a pretentious hipster crowd: Boomtown Fair has somehow managed to keep it's soul intact, stay good value, attract the usual friendly bunch of lunatics and remain a thumping good time. I will certainly be going next year!

Next year's Super Early Bird tickets going on sale in November and a series of pre-show Boom Balls will be popping up in selected UK cities. Watch this space for more information: http://www.boomtownfair.co.uk/
