Example certainly has gone downhill. Many old fans still cling nostalgically to the halcyon days when Mr. Gleave had the ability to craft witty rap numbers such as ‘I Don’t Want To’, ‘Me + Mandy’ and ‘Vile’. Fast-forward to 2011 and there is a more tragic picture. In a textbook case of artistic bulimia, Example now vomits out terrible synth tracks that soundtrack the fall of western civilisation at your local Liquid nightclub.

‘Changed The Way You Kissed Me’ does not buck this unfortunate trend. Example combines stagnant beats with a strikingly bad singing voice to create a mediocre ode of little merit. ‘Kickstarts’ may have been a guilty pleasure for some, including myself, but the comparative failure of this track will hopefully be the coup d’etat that unseats the corrupt tyrant of the pop/dance charts from his throne.
