Considering the age of these four St Albans youngsters – apparently around 15 – they have a very well developed sound – a cross between oldskool Ska and Indie and they manage to create a very listenable sound. They have plenty of rough edges but give them over to a ‘proper’ producer and they sound as though they have the talent to go on from here.
Brandon & Sam have a fine guitar sound with hanging notes keeping the ear waiting for the next and their vocals have none of the lack of confidence in a lot of kids their age – again voices that are developing but there ain’t nothing wrong about that. Dan Byrne plays a fluid and tasty bass and Jack Garrety's drumming is fine - again time will develop his skills.
They claim The Vertigos and Covered In Death as influences and you can here both in their sound but I think there is enough raw talent here to develop their own sound and I will be keeping an ear out for them.
They will be playing at 4 upcoming shows/events
Jun 25 CRAWFORD ARMS Milton Keynes
Jul 5 The Horn St Albans, Herts
Jul 30 THE SUMMER FAYRE FESTIVAL Milton Keynes,
Sep 4SUMMER FESTIVAL Beds
