Hailing from Chingford, Essex The Rifles have come a long way since their first gig at London’s legendry Bull & Gate pub in Kentish Town.

Their debut album No Love Lost was released on 17 July 2006 and spawned the singles "She's Got Standards, "Local Boy", "Peace & Quiet", "Repeated Offender” and "When I'm Alone". Their follow up, Great Escape, released on 26 January 2009 saw the release of "The Great Escape", "Fall to Sorrow", "Romeo & Julie” and "The General".

Since then the band has seen a line-up change with Grant Marsh and Rob Pyne announcing their departure, Dean Mumford added on keyboards and Lee Burgess and Kenton Shinn drafted in to fill the gap.

The band have been working on their new album and are only weeks away from completion. Music News caught up with frontman Joel Stoker and guitarist Luke Crowther to find out more prior to a Merc sponsored fan only gig at Gibson Studios in central London.
