Formed in 2009, Hame are a four piece folk/alternative band from in Monmouth, South Wales. The quartet consists of Jack Worrall (vocals/guitar), Ethan Rice (vocals/guitar/harmonica/mandolin),
Jamie Aubrey (bass) and Matt Tucker (Drums).
Playing their own material, Hame are worthy young pretenders of the British folk-rock scene. From their debut track The Night, a hauntingly acoustic number featuring Worral’s distinctive vocal with Rice on harmonica and mandolin, through to the stomping When I’m Home held together by Aubrey and Tucker’s sold rhythm section it’s easy to see why Hame stole the show at the recent Surface Music Festival in Cardiff.
Following and few months silence (it’s hard to believe these guys are still students) Hame are back together in Monmouth and set to take the south west by storm over the summer months.
First up is the second round of the Surface Music Festival on 12 June at the Buffalo Bar in Cardiff, hot on the heals of this will be the release of their self titled EP, which they will be promoting in the spirit of troubadours from the past by piling into the back of a van and pitching up wherever they can get a gig before returning to the studio to start work on an album length offering.
So keep a look out for Hame, you never know, your local could be where these guys hit the big time. Meanwhile, have a listen at: http://www.myspace.com/hamemusic
