There’s something stirring above the valleys. Holy Coves hail from the coast of North Wales and their debut is chock full of restrained power and Welsh passion – hwyl if you like.

Big, thumping drumbeats courtesy of Ash Garden and heavy guitar riffing from Scott Marsden & Ben Lee with Scott’s bandmate from The Lizzies, Jim Eggleton, on bass.
While The Lizzie could be described as ‘Shoe Gazers’ there is much more attack and punch about the Holy Coves and David Wrench’s production brings out the bands power without making them sound like a metal outfit or just another indie band.

The title track has an almost psychedelic modal drone from the guitars and a fine vocal performance from Scott, building to an explosive finish – should be a cracker live.
Opener ‘Let’s Go’ has the edge of a Stooges number and a belting beat while ‘What’s Happened To You Has Happened To Me’ features echoes of The Glitter Band crossed with Oasis (believe me – it works).
