Straight from the mean streets of Ipswich, Voodoo Browne is fast becoming UK Hip Hop’s most experimental artist and in April is releasing his newest track Low Budget Raver. As a long serving member of the UK underground scene, Voodoo has played many parts during his career including Drum 'n' Bass MCing and fronting a funk band. His vocal dexterity and way with a rhythm is evident on this fantastic tune which is destined to become a huge club hit as many clubbers will relate to the sentiments within.
This refreshingly upbeat tune is exactly the sort of crossover music that will win Voodoo plenty of fans, with its brilliantly funny lyrics and housey feel it is sure to get heads bobbing. The extravagant rapper explains the songs subject matter by saying: “The idea comes from being around a close personal friend, it seems that every time we go out he only has a fiver in his pocket and he manages to last the night.” Hands up who knows somebody in their circle like that? It may even be you (or me!) but no matter who it pokes fun at, everyone will be raising their hands to this soon-to-be-classic in the coming months.
