Kicking in with an almighty drumbeat and thundering guitars and Romily Alice’s wasted but sexy as hell vocals, this is compelling and powerful stuff.
There is very little subtlety but the band don’t do subtle – they do the soft/loud thing brilliantly and they do psychotic rage better than anyone else around at the moment.
Tom Lamb’s guitars underpin Alices vocals and give texture to the sound while Rikki Waldron’s drums and Johnny Seymour’s bass anchor and explode out of the gate – the band is not afraid of power.
Great to hear a band that doesn’t add unnecessary frills to their package.
Their debut album 'Yolk' is due out in the new year and if the rest of the album is as full-on as this I can’t wait.
The band will be playing live this year and into next:
