Any release that contains the name Lee Mortimer is bound to be a future dancefloor classic and now he has teamed up with Reggae legends and Saxon Soundsystem stalwarts Daddy Colonel and Papa Levi for the upcoming ‘Fi Come Dance’ on his own Wearhouse label. This is afrobeat meets fidget house with Mortimer’s signature synth swirls and one hell of a bass drop thrown in. Remixes come thick and fast on this bulging record starting with a warm garage effort from Luvstuff that isolates the nice riff of the original to full effect.
Warrior One take it to the old skool with a brilliant breakbeat re-dub that relishes the junglist sound bites provided by the excellent MC’s on show. The superb Kill Light then turn the whole tune on its head by slowing everything down to a deep house crawl that swathes the vocals with vocoder and leaves a proggy taste in an already over salivating mouth. It falls to the best named remixer to close the EP and Coin Operated Boy lives up to his moniker with a lush analogue re-jig that is drenched in acid to create an atmospheric yet banging version of a tune that will take over the clubs this winter. Another perfect release form Mr Mortimer and friends.
