Kele Okereke of Bloc Party fame is an ambitious individual, stuck between critical and commercial success, it's a situation you feel he is uncomfortable with. On The Lam sees him take his electronic meanderings unashamedly to the dancefloor at points recalling 90s house before rolling with a Hadouken inspired baseline, the track is a lively nod to all that inspires the man away from guitars.

Yet at times it's a mess, too much is happening, a sign of his struggles to be exactly where he wants on the musical radar perhaps. A significant departure from much of what Kele as part of BP has released the frequent changes and skips means a difficult bonding experience between listener and artist.

The track though bound to prompt intrigue from dance and electronica fans is a challenging 3 minutes, sadly falling short of its aim of leftfield dancefloor success.
