The older generation still remember, the younger generation have seen the films and teenagers don't care either way. The time is right to officially release ‘The Italian' to the world, after all it's about time the crooners had a real go at filling their pockets from the retro vibe cash pot that's been drained by almost every other musical genre.
Enter Patrizio Buanne a 26-year-old crooner with a baritone voice brought up on music from the 40's, 50's and 60's aka Dean Martin, Paul Anka, Buddy Greco and Tony Bennett. Patrizio mixes the traditional Neapolitan romance along with Italian singing tradition to produce a worthwhile trip down memory lane. With stereotypical Italian looks the women will swoon as this modern day troubadour articulates the language of love. It has been said that Italian crooners are as plentiful as the stars and as alike as pennies in a pond and whether or not he can entice a new generation with his dulcet tones and sex appeal remains to be seen, but it put a big smile on my mum's face.
The songs are cultural classics, instantly recognisable, the music tugs at the sides of the lips and the resultant feel good glow is pure cerebral pampering.
