This begins well with a subtle sample behind charming and humorous vocals which is naggingly familiar. Then the chorus hits and it is clearly just ripping off ‘Let Me Be Your Fantasy’ by Baby D. Like Dizzee Rascals ‘reworking’ of Stevie V’s ‘Dirty Cash’ this is sampling at its most unashamedly commercial and begs the question; does Bashy not think his own songs are as good as cashing in on a big hit from the nineties?

Bashy AKA Ashley Thomas is a bit of a legend on the urban scene and his debut album ‘Catch Me If You Can’ was critically acclaimed so it seems a shame that he has opted for the pop pay check this time around. That said, his lyrical dexterity is second to none and he is one of the few urban MC’s with true wit and a way with a melody. This will be all over the radio so it looks like Bashy will be quids in, once he pays for the privilege of borrowing the chorus which no matter how much it is remixed still sounds great.
