The new offering 'The Suburbs' from Arcade Fire had numerous critics blabbering on about whether or not it sounded like Arcade Fire still, the answer is of course it does. Each song flows blissfully into each other, the lyrical content still perfectly fresh and mature.
The sound of the album is both old and new, easy to listen to but filled with sounds that just want to wrap around you and follow you around on your day to day life.
This is a pick me up album, this is also an album for the sad times as well as the happy times.

The title track 'The Suburbs' being far apart from any single in the current UK charts, this upbeat brilliantly written song instantly brain washes you, reminding you of your childhood days growing up with a smile, this song is full of memories and feelings alike.
The music written by Arcade Fire seems to just appear, almost too good to be written and thought up by a human beings mind. Everything sounds perfect with everything how it should be, all the melodies completely flowing into each other, without a doubt this is the album of the year.
Even strolling into realms we haven't heard from Arcade Fire before, 'Month Of May' the power chord laden 'Beat On The Brat' sounding track. Arcade Fire's twist of a punk song, I wouldn't be surprised if this song was written aside or after the rest of the album.
'Spraw II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)' another stroll away from the rest of the album, 80's synth filled, extremely catchy, it wouldn't sound out of place on 80's 'Top Of The Pops' that's for sure. Regine Chassagne (Multiple Instruments/Vocals) taking lead vocal duties, breaking up the album from her husband and lead vocalist Win Butler's distinct Arcade Fire vocals.
The album ends on a continued slow version of 'The Suburbs', with just strings to accompany Win Butler's vocals.

Arcade Fire won't surprise you with a sudden change of sound to satisfy the media and record companies, what they will surprise you with is sheer musical brilliance and a warmth so warm that winter won't seem so cold anymore.
