Laura Marling

Laura Marling’s pretty voice is starting to sound more mature on this track from her recently released second album “I speak Because I Can”. No great surprise really when you consider she was just fifteen when she first started writing music.

This maturity does not mean she has lost the wonderfully innocent quality of her voice, just that she is also developing an intriguing depth to her music.

A gorgeously stirring song which builds beautifully throughout, this just confirms my earlier suspicions that Laura Marling is a true talent and a folk-force to be reckoned with. Let’s hope this year’s Mecury Music panel agree with me.
