Former stately home; Kenwood House, Hampstead played host to Canadian Diana Krall who took to the main stage with an eclectic song list that swung the summer jazz pendulum from traditional to contemporary sounds.

Jazz vocal performer and pianist; Diana Krall seduced us with a sassy, smoky set on her green carpet in the serene, backdrop of Kenwood House.

Krall commanded her stage performance at the Kenwood picnic concert with a calm, coordinated control over her velvety, rich vocals interspersed with engaging recollections of light-hearted family tales.

Performing her sensual version of Nat King Cole’s love song; ‘I’ll String Along With You’ with an extended piano intro showcased Krall’s art in her chosen veritable keyboard playground.

As ‘Temptation’ filled the heath grounds, Krall and her accompanying band shared her platform with unity as she impressively added her sultry take on Tom Wait’s jazz ballad. Her set continued with a smooth ebb and flow of soulful tempos and upbeat jazz classics drawing on the influences of Shirley Horn and Nat King Cole Trio among others.
