Football fever is everywhere, but if you want something more authentic than 3 Lions or Vindaloo, give Listen Up! a listen.

This World Cup 2010 album features many South African artists along with more famous names such as R. Kelly, Shakira, John Legend, Dario G, Pitbull and Wyclef.

The album includes the official anthem of the World Cup, the official song (not sure what different between an anthem and a song and also the official mascot song!!

As you'd expect the album features plenty of authentic African drum sand choirs, but somehow they seem to have entwined their sound with a more European vibe to create a great crossover album.

The Anthem and official song are both rousing numbers and tracks that follow continue in a similar vein. Tracks like 'One Day' and Ke Nako' have a great feel to them, with simple yet effective choruses. Angelique Kidjo and John Legend deliver a great re-make of 'Move On Up', and the unlikely combo of Pitbull and Dario G deliver one of the stand-out tracks in 'Game On' (the mascot song).

I really was pleasantly surprised when I heard this album - well worth getting to get you in the South African vibe.
