I know I know, I’m a bit late with this one, so you’ve probably heard this track 12 times over, but I got here eventually. Fyfe Dangerfield, the brainchild behind Indie four-piece Guillemots has attempted to destroy the UK charts with his solo effort, ‘Fly Yellow Moon‘, with ‘Faster Than The Setting Sun’ making an appearance as the third single from the full length album.

While it didn’t do as well as the latest single from the album did, FTTSS is a decent little pop track with all sorts of feel-good vibes flowing through. It’s all sweeping string movements, captivating(ish) lyrics, strong, recognisable vocals and a whole host of instruments that accumulate towards the latter part of the track, spiralling the 3 minute 11 second into a beautiful crescendo of pop goodness.

All in all, it might not have been as good as his latest effort, but it’s still a nice and easy pop song for the summer that deserves to have a play through anyone’s speakers. Polydor
