The Squad

As predictable as England losing a penalty shoot out, 3 Lions is back out again for the impending World Cup finals. This time the track has had a major overhaul with vocal assistance from Robbie Williams, Russell Brand and also opera singer Olivia Safe. Trevor Horn is on production duties so what can go wrong?? Well very little actually. Olivia’s operatic intro is a nice touch, adding a Nessum Dorma style feel to the track, before the main event starts. The track hasn’t changed much, although it is more orchestral backed and the pace of the chorus is slow to start with; however the crux of the track is still as uplifting as ever, 14 year on from it’s introduction at Euro ’96.

Still the best footie anthem ever (with New Order a close second).
