Love Drunk is the second studio album recorded from rock/pop band Boys Like Girls. In essence the outcome is what happens when Scouting For Girls merge with Blink 182.

Love Drunk is packed with radio friendly pseudo pop-rock tracks with catchy melodies and choruses covering off the usually teenage issue – love, rejection and more love. 'Heart, Heart Heartbreak’, Love Drunk’, 'Contagious’, 'The Shot Heard 'round the world’ and 'Chemical Collide’ are all interchangeable tracks with little to distinguish them as they repeat the formula of 'geetars’ and rocky melodies. However when they steer away from this formula they strat to define themselves more.

'Two Is Better Than One’ sees Taylor Swift join the boys on an acoustic number that slows the pace. 'Someone Likes You’ and 'The First One’ both follow this slowed downed style, but minus Ms Swift. There is a slight Country swagger to this track.. 'Real Thing’ sees the 80’s come into play with a Whitesnake / Aerosmith vibe cut in.

It all closes with another mellow offering in 'Go’. It’s quite a limp closer to an album that at times does offer some good tracks for its particular niche.

'Love Drunk’ does offer some glimmers of class, but for me it all felt a too similar overall.
