It’s Tuesday night in Camden’s Barfly and things are about to get very hot n’ sweaty with a kick-ass, rock-your-butts-off bill that includes several bands to support the evening’s main attraction, Vains Of Jenna (reviewed separately).

One of the supporting bands were the utterly awesome Falling Red – a wild bunch from Cumbria comprised of Rozey on lead vox/guitar, Shane Kirk on rhythm guitar, Millsy on bass and Dave Sanders on drums and yeah, they do backing vox, too.

Playing mainly tracks from their current killer album 'Shake The Faith’ (check our Album Reviews section), the band got straight into the action with the super-sonic-speed title track. The band was cheered on by loyal supporters, while a generally enthusiastic crowd joined in the action. No, the crowd’s faith in Falling Red was certainly not shaken but cemented from the minute the lads unleashed the first chords and belted out the lyrics!

Next were 'Immoral Heights’ and 'Thrive’, two more numbers full of raw attitude, raw energy and raw talent. Think Velvet Revolver and similar bands, only with even faster speed.

'How you feel?' shouted Rozey a few times – and everyone felt just great. Well, the band proceeded with 'How You Feel (On Me)’ and it was more than evident that there is no stopping Roz, Shane and Millsy once they are in full swing – bouncing and jumping about stage as if high voltage were running through their bodies, while Dave worked his drum kit as if his intention was to summon the gods of hellfire.

At that stage, the crowd was totally into it – slam-dancing, pogo-dancing or simply just dancing, while one overtly enthusiastic female admirer had somehow managed to grab Rozey by the legs and rip his trouser button. Rock 'n’ roll! What irony that it happened while the band played 'You Were Out To Get Me’!

After a couple of more tracks, including 'Ain’t Down With The Rock’ from their first album, the band delivered one hell of a cover version of Little Richard’s 'Long Tall Sally’ and it couldn’t have been a better closing number.

Falling Red are currently touring the UK with their 'Shake The Faith’ tour – check out the tour calendar on their MySpace (www.myspace.com/fallingredband) and make sure you get to see them live!
