Silver Columns

Silver Columns are Actem and The Pictish Tail, and have already released two limited edition singles. Cavalier is their first proper single and a taster for their forthcoming album, Yes and Dance.

It’s an odd sounding slice of electronica, which while pleasant enough lacks any real substance. The overall sound is pretty lightweight and the fey vocals don’t help at all. The two remixes take the song in different directions. The Time and Space remix is over eight minutes long and has more satisfying a darker edge to it. The Astronomer remix reduces the song to little more than blips and drips.
