Frankie and the Heartstrings, as their name more than suggests, have a distinctly 50’s rock ‘n’ roll sound about them. However, what they've done is taken that framework, and infused it with noughties pop savvy.

Tender is a feel good song that will have people bopping and singing along wherever it’s played. It’s very catchy and has a touch of Tenpole Tudor’s freewheeling abandon about it.

Want You Back has a more serious sound, as well as a vaguely Latin American ambience about it and is the perfect foil to Tender.

There’s a ragged charm about the band and that should hold them in good stead, for the time being. It’ll be interesting to see how they develop.
