The four guys who make up Soul Doctor have a long and glorious history in Germany and Holland in bands like Heartlyne, Fair Warning and Zeno and a stellar success in Japan.
Tommy Heart, the lead vocalist has one of those classic metal voices and lungs like zeppelins while Chris Lyne plays great riff-laden power rock that perfectly suits Hearts vocals. Jogy Rautenberg – ex Skew Siskin - and Zacky play bass and drums respectively and move the riffs along like an 18 wheeler.
They draw influences from all over – a bit of Whitesnake here, some Michael Schenker Group there and even Thin Lizzy in touches but this isn’t derivative or bland – they play fine rock with a metal tinge and huge amount of, apologies, heart.
They do melodies and they do throat-busting yells when suitable but they mainly do classic stadium rock and with tracks like 'Lightning and Thunder’ and 'Love Crashed Down’ they promise to be a dynamite live act as well as delivering a top Saturday night warm up album.
