Brazilian singer Bebel Gilberto has a certain South American chic that comes from having a father that introduced us to ‘The Girl From Ipanema'. Jo“o Gilberto is the most revered musician in Brazil with his gentle whisper and his ability to distil the complex rhythms of the samba in a guitar strum.

Bebel has worked with artists such as David Byrne, Amon Tobin, Smoke City, the Thievery Corporation, that with only two albums under her belt has enabled her to find a musical maturity that belies her small but perfectly formed discography.

The samba driven rhythms of Carlinthos Brown's ‘Aganju' is taken from her self titled album and it's hard not to imagine yourself sipping a Caipirinia along the Coppa Cabana on hearing it. The Portuguese lyrics lend it as certain je ne sais quoi that crosses oceans with hip swaying ease. For just under five minutes, let Bebel transport you to her native Brazillian coastline, at £2.99 it's certainly much cheaper than a holiday.
