Kent 4-piece Moscow Drive will strike a chord with those who appreciate the likes of The Courteeners, London Blackmarket or The Enemy and this release is a bold statement from a band who have known each other since the playground days. Colossal is appealing right from the off, anthemic and bold in nature, immediately finding its pace in the way the Arctic Monkeys did so well on their opening record. It's not particularly refreshing and it won't reach the heights of said bands, but it does warrant attention. It's an ambitious song, big in sound and ideas. 'Well I take my pointers from my memory' and 'If you can't appreciate what you've got, you better get what you can appreciate' being notable lines.

B-side Cincinatti documents the life of a band on the road for the first time. Dreams wrapped up in nostalgia and the promise of limitless possibilities. With a sleepy stir of Kings of Leon 'Knocked Up', the track also recalls dreamy Doves and The Cave Singers.

A promising single then from a band certainly deserving of a further look.
