This is one of those songs that fits perfectly into the middle of an XFM playlist without wetting any pants in the process. By that, I mean a good, solid track, but one which doesn’t desperately make you want to hear it again and again. Moscow Drive are a four-piece outfit from Kent, who have played some impressive support slots for the likes of the Twang, Reverend and The Makers and Hockey.
‘Colossal’ plays out a nice tune with some worthy vocals and guitar lines. The song is complete, well mastered and well written but does seem to lack ‘that something’ which would make it stand out from all the other trillion similar bands around at the moment.
The band have generated some radio support from the likes of BBC Regional and BBC Introducing, and with some upcoming London dates approaching they will no doubt pick up some more fans on the way. Worth checking out but not worth clearing your schedule for.
