The Alfonz

As mediocrity comes and goes, the Alfonz do pretty well. That is to say their bland three minute latest release makes your head go a little less numb than say, Radiohead.

With guitars that sound like an intro to a Stones’ album and the drums that pump the rhythm it’s a surprise to why the song dissipates into sonic nothingness. Perhaps it’s to do with anthemic undertones that don’t fit or the singer’s off-key voice sitting at the more annoying frequencies. The track is totally unmoving and leaves a sour aftertaste of regret that you’ve wasted your time on the Alfonz when you could have been listening something decent. There are plenty of worse bands, but there are a million better.
