Perhaps I’m getting too old now (in my ripe old age of twenty-one) to be listening to pop-punk that echoes teenage angst and suburban American teen movies etc. as Broadway Calls’ new album “Good Views, Bad News” sounds extremely clichéd.

When “My Friend’s Over You” came out it was already cheesier than a cheese sandwich with extra corn; so now, six or so years later, an album that sounds exactly like it is hard to take seriously. Every song is indistinguishable from the previous: the tracks are middle-of-the-road with chugging power chords, puny riffs and the occasional anthemic chorus where all their fifty mates sing along to lyrics about skateboarding or being dumped.

I’m sure there is an audience for this music amongst the hordes of teens who don their dads’ size forty five jeans and hang out listening to Sum 41, but for those who don’t struggle with spots or awkward dates then this album will probably pass under the radar.
