As usual Razor Blade Kisses deliver a dark and disturbed vision and their sinister and twisted lyrics sit completely askance from the mainstream – no-one has mixed Goth and Pop so well since Siouxsie was in her pomp.

‘Ballerina’ is packed with the symbols of dark erotica and revolves around the refrain “I wanna make you scream, I wanna turn your dream” with a violin set against heavily fuzzed guitars and a twinkly piano line – you can almost see the ballerina turning on her podium as she glares hatred at the watchers.
‘The Butterfly’ is an altogether more melodic affair but may be even darker intheme as the spoken lyric quotes an old Persian poem about the feelings of a caged bird.

Layla & Azadeh have a unique and genuinely edgy sound and they have been around long enough to develop a truly exciting sound and this is a super example of it.
