Taking the obvious cue from Bobby McFerrin’s 80’s chocolate advert track, Don’t Worry, Be Happy is a collection of uplifting tracks from various time periods and genres of music. The 2 CDs range from the 60’s with Manfred Mann, The Turtles and The Monkees, through 70’s Fleetwood Mac, Chic, Sister Sledge and Queen, into the better represented 80’s (Bluebells, A-ha, Belinda Carlisle, KC & The Sunshine Band and B52’s) and 90’s (Deee-Lite, Supergrass, Corona, Eiffel 65 and Whigfield) through to the present decade with the likes of Lily Allen, David Guetta, Alesha Dixon, Katy Perry and even Pitbull. (Would be interesting to know how many of these would survive to a similar compilation in 5 years time!!)
Throughout the 46 tracks you are given plenty of uplifting music to keep a smile on your face and your foot a tapping. It’s nothing new, more than a bit cheesy but if you want uplifting for what ever reason you could do a lot worse than this (as long as the remote / skip button is close at hand for the likes of Los Lobos, Jeff Beck, Andrew Goold, etc etc.)!!
