Gary Go has gently been carving a name for himself via support slots for the likes of The Script. This exposure will soon grow when he supports Take That on their stadium tour this summer.

Gary Go (aka Gary Baker) is a singer songwriter that has been likened to Coldplay, although I can't really see this. He is more James Blunt with more instruments; 'Wonderful' being a prime example sailing quite close to 'Beautiful'.

Other tracks such as 'Black and White' or 'Open Arms' are sort of Maroon 5 meets James Blunt. It's all pleasant enough, but somehow always fails to really get going. 'Engines' is probably the stand-out track for me, with more power and emotion than many of the other tracks. This reminds me of Hugh Harris (not the Kooks lead singer) who released a great album called 'Words for Our Years' back in 1989.

Other stand-out track is the closing 'Speak' which starts slowly before building to a grand closure.

It's by no means a bad album, and in places has some real signs of quality, just unfortunately there is more that washes over than makes you sit up.

Possibly one for the future?
