Take three young men from Perth, Australia, with an appreciation for Cream, early Floyd, Creedence Clearwater Revival and all things late 60s psychedelia, and you’ll dig the scene. Their debut self-titled EP is rammed full of distorted, fuzzed up wah-wah guitars and wistful vocals, recorded with Kevin Parker’s trusted 8 track, assorted pedal effects and amplifiers. The result is dynamically authentic and ever interesting. Jay Watson (drums) tilts a keen nod towards Ginger Baker, especially on the groovily explosive Half Full Glass of Wine – a song perfectly crafted in the image of Clapton, Bruce and Baker, with big riffs, glorious dynamics and a delicious drum solo play out. More!!!! Desire Be Desire Go is raw Beatles-Revolver-esque, while Skeleton Tiger, available as a free download on their official website, is a melee of choppy drums, psyche-guitar blasts and dream-like wavering breakdowns.

Kevin Parker, Don Simper and Jay Watson are set to release their debut album in the UK next spring. This 5 track EP is a perfect indication of what to expect – authentically observed, intense, highly listenable psychedelia, with seldom an uninteresting moment. Allow yourself to be seduced.
