For some reason Laurie Anderson’s O Superman came to mind when I first heard this song. It actually doesn’t sound anything like it but there is an enigmatic element that Little Bit and O Superman share. Both have a cold detachment that intrigues rather than repels.

Lykke Li’s vocals have an oddly childish (think Altered Images) quality and for much of the song it’s just her and a stolid metronomic beat. It’s occasionally embellished by other instruments that seem to have been lobbed in at random, and it can initially sound disjointed, but after a few listens it does comes together.

The whole performance is a bit sinister and unsettling, but that’s not a bad thing. There's enough chirpy young singers out there already, and someone ploughing a more left field furrow keeps things interesting.
