The Salford duo returned to The Venue for the second time this year, but this time as headliners. With the gig sold out long ago and touts outside selling tickets for 3 times the original value, The Ting Tings, now one of the top pop acts of 2008 were surely not to disappoint the crowd. Opening the set with 'We Walk', Katie White begins to strut, punch, clap and yelp her way through the bouncy, punchy track.

White dominates the stage whilst co performer Jules De Martino on drums and vocals is firmly on the back seat of the machine which is The Ting Tings. Having only 2 members in the band permits White to move around the stage unreservedly. The crowd continue to nod heads, bounce and tap feet throughout each song, with just one surprise the Run DMC track ' "Walk This Way" intro mixed in to 'We started nothing'. The band deliver few other memorable and unpredictable moments before or after this. Playing tracks from an album released 5 months ago and with 3 number 1 singles under their belts, countless plays on Radio 1, The Ting Tings need to get back into the recording studio again soon in order to deliver a fresh batch of songs to mix in with favourites such as "Great Dj" and "That's Not My Name" which closed the evenings events.

A good but somewhat predictable gig, seeing The Tings Tings live is more like listening to the album but louder. Few people in the audience would have left the gig feeling cheated, the band delivered what was expected.
