Bullet For My Valentine

Waking the Demon is Bullet For My Valentine’s third single from their mystifyingly successful second album Scream Aim Fire.

It’s a fast and heavy track that manages to keeps just the right side of thrash, although most listeners will pick up the early Metallica influences, along with a dash of Iron Maiden. The guitars are suitably aggressive and it’s supported by a thundering bass and drums. There’s a break from the mayhem mid-way through which gives us and the band a rest and the guitarist a chance to let rip.

It’s all solid, if not very adventurous, stuff, and sort of sums up where the band are at this point in their career.
