The origins of Urbnri lie in prison where Kev Tait had ended up after shooting a rival drug dealer. Upon his release he invited his cousins from Ireland to help start a band, the rest as they say is history.

Urbnri’s music is the soundtrack to the realities of life in a Glasgow sink estate, the brutality and danger that pervades the day-to-day existence of those living on and under the breadline.

There’s a fire in these bellies and a hunger that shines through in their simple yet passionate creations. 'Back Me Up’ is an anthem for the disillusioned youth, living every day as it comes, drinking, scrapping and taking nothing for granted. Urbnri are not subtle, they are straight forward in their approach and all the more powerful for it. The two remixes of 'Back You Up’ only add to the brilliance on display here.

Forget The Enemy, ignore Baby Shambles, and enjoy Urbnri instead. Enjoy their honesty, and their melody; enjoy the fact that they’ll scare the hell out of the Daily Mail.
