This 6-piece from York wouldn’t sound out of place in a downtown sweaty Memphis Blues bar. Last night they played their brand of stomping blues in the intimate surroundings of The Fly and had the crowd shouting for more in a rousing set of what they themselves describe as 'Voodoo Blues with Bollocks’, a pretty apt description!

The vocals are shared between the gravelly whisky-soaked blues voice of Tim Fox and the soulful gospel tinged Emma Keaveney and they complement each other perfectly. Tim’s voice is a cocktail of Jim Morrison’s baritone with a bit of Joe Cocker thrown in and he also plays some great bad-ass raucous harmonica like his old time Blues heroes.

They are backed up by a tight band of musicians who provide the stomping rhythm to Tim’s blues. They are a great live band and know how to get a crowd jumping. Highlights were Bitter Carnival and Disciple Of Time and an encore of Mississippi Fred Mcdowell’s Shake 'em on down.

It was great to see a modern band playing with such raw passion, they are very talented and deserve a lot of success!
